Olivier Isler appointed Director of the Gruyère Interprofession
The Interprofession du Gruyère (IPG) Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Olivier Isler to the position of Director. He will take up his new post on 1 June 2025, succeeding the current Director, Philippe Bardet.
Aged 53, Mr Isler holds a diploma in dairy engineering, specialising in business management, from the HAFL in Zollikofen. He also completed initial training as a cheesemaker at the Grangeneuve Dairy School. Currently, he oversees the Federal Register of Protected Designations and Indications (AOP and IGP) at the Federal Office for Agriculture (OFAG). Since the early 2000s, he has served as Managing Director of the Tête de Moine Interprofession, where he has played a key role in the successful growth of the market for this AOP cheese. In addition, for over 20 years, he was an associate member of the IPG Committee, managing the Association des Artisans fromagers romands (AFR) and serving as Deputy Director of the Association faîtière des artisans suisses du fromage (FROMARTE).
The IPG Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Isler, a highly respected figure within our organisation, whose extensive experience in both the agricultural and cheese-making sectors, as well as expertise in interprofessional management, make him an invaluable asset. With his deep knowledge, unwavering determination, and broad network, Mr Isler is poised to provide the leadership needed to keep the industry thriving in an increasingly competitive landscape. The Interprofession du Gruyère Committee looks forward to working with him as they tackle the challenges ahead.
Mr Bardet will step down on 31 May 2025. A gradual transition of responsibilities to his successor will take place in May. The IPG Committee would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr Bardet for his dedicated service and looks forward to honouring him with a heartfelt farewell at the June 2025 Delegates' Meeting.
