The 2025 Tour de Ski with Le Gruyère AOP
After kicking off the winter season in Scandinavia, the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup made its way back to Central Europe in mid-December, with a stop in Davos, before heading into the prestigious Tour de Ski.
The highlight of the international cross-country skiing season, the Tour de Ski, kicked off at the end of December 2024 in Toblach, Italy, featuring both sprint and distance events. The action then moved to Val di Fiemme, where the final races took place under sunny skies.
After eight days of intense competition and seven exciting events, the overall standings were determined, as always, in the final race: the gruelling ascent of the Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme.
By the end of the 2025 Tour de Ski, two seasoned and accomplished athletes emerged victorious, claiming the overall titles in the men's and women's categories: Therese Johaug and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo.
Swiss skiers delivered outstanding performances, with Nadine Fähndrich claiming first place overall in the women's sprint. She distinguished herself on two occasions with podium finishes in Toblach and Val di Fiemme. Meanwhile, Janik Riebli rounded off a strong showing by finishing third in the overall sprint classification.
The 2025 Tour de Ski lived up to all its promises, offering a variety of formats and unexpected twists and turns. It captivated audiences, both on the slopes and in front of the screens.
Le Gruyère AOP was at the heart of the event, with strong brand visibility along the ski routes and on the athletes' bibs. The product also took centre stage in the VIP areas and at the brand’s official stand located at the finish lines. Spectators and athletes had the opportunity to sample a variety of Le Gruyère AOP cheeses, as well as the tasty “Hot Fondues”. In total, nearly 162 kg of fondue mix and 550 kg of Le Gruyère AOP, including 14,000 samples, were enjoyed during the 2025 Tour de Ski.
Le Gruyère AOP congratulates Nadine Fähndrich and Janik Riebli on their outstanding performances, as well as all the athletes who took part in this exciting edition of the Tour de Ski.
