World Cheese Awards 2022 - Newport, Wales
Le Gruyère AOP Réserve from the Vordefultigen cheese dairy was voted World Champion 2022 at the World Cheese Awards.
On February 2nd and 3rd, 2022, 4,434 cheese specialties from more than 42 countries were gathered in Newport for the 2022 World Cheese Awards.
After a day of intense competition, only 16 cheeses were chosen for the grand finale.
After tasting these 16 finalists, the jury of 16 international judges selected Le Gruyère AOP Réserve from the Vordefultigen cheese dairy as the 2022 Champion of the World Cheese Awards.
Matured by Gourmino, Le Gruyère AOP made by Urs Leuenberger was described by the jury as a "very refined" cheese with a rich taste and aroma.
The Le Gruyère AOP sector congratulates the winner of the World Cheese Awards 2022 as well as all the other Le Gruyère AOP participants who took part in the competition.
