The 2023 Nordic Ski World Cup with Le Gruyère AOP
Le Gruyère AOP is continuing its partnership with the International Ski Federation by supporting the Nordic Ski World Cup, which kicked off last weekend in Ruka, Finland.
A new XC skiing season with Le Gruyère AOP
In idyllic winter conditions in Ruka (FIN), the world's best cross-country skiers battled it out in three competition formats: a sprint on Friday, followed by an individual race in classic style on Saturday and finally a free-style peloton race on Sunday.
After the opening weekend in Finland, the cross-country skiers will head to Gällivare in Sweden for three days of competition, before finally heading to Trondheim in Norway for the final competitions before the Christmas break.
The year 2023 will come to a close with Le Tour de Ski, which this year is offering a brand new programme in Switzerland and Italy. From 30 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, the two neighbouring countries will welcome athletes in Toblach, Davos and Val di Fiemme for intense sprint and cross-country competitions.
Le Gruyère AOP will be at the heart of this new season, with the brand prominently displayed along the routes taken by the skiers, as well as a stand at the various competition venues where the public and the athletes will have the chance to taste the different types of Le Gruyère AOP cheese.
Le Gruyère AOP Cheese Challenge
This visibility for the brand and the product is complemented by support for young talent through the Le Gruyère AOP Cheese Challenge. At each competition, the athletes who reach the top of the podium receive a 2.5 kg wedge of Le Gruyère AOP. With this prize, they take part in the competition to collect the greatest number of wedges of Le Gruyère AOP over the course of the season. The three top men and three top women receive financial support to be redistributed to the training club of their choice. A total of €12,000 will be donated to support the young generation of skiers. For more information on this challenge and to follow the rankings throughout the season, visit the challenge website.
Le Gruyère AOP is looking forward to the official opening of this new season and wishes great success to all the participants, as well as lots of fun for the public both on-site as well as in front of the television screens.
